Several more Offspring songs use the formula too, like:
ReplyDeleteAll I Want
Dammit, I Changed Again
Race Against Myself
Have You Ever
Half-Truism
Can't Repeat
There might be more, that's just what I remember off the top of my head.
Just became aware of it! There is a very easily noticeable song that uses it here :

it's a famous brazilian song.
Hey!
ReplyDeleteI like your blog, and when i tried the progression on my guitar, the first song that popped into my mind seems to be missing from your list, maybe cause it was not a hit in the States, but in Europe it was big back then (1996, i believe):
Aïcha by Cheb Khaled

if you look into electronic/dance music, you can also find a bunch of examples. the one i have in mind right now is Dota by Basshunter.
ReplyDeleteI see that All I Ever Wanter is already on the list, but in 20 minutes I found a couple others, from the same album (Russia Privjet, In Her Eyes, Camilla).
ReplyDeleteAlso, would The Scientist by Coldplay (and other songs with extended/suspended chords) count? It's technically i7-VI-III-VIIsus4 or something.
"Stereo Hearts" by Gym Class Heroes ft. Adam Levine
ReplyDelete"International Love" by Pitbull ft. Chris Brown
Hi love the blog!
ReplyDeleteNickelback - Someday has a 6415 progression in the verse although has an add2 for the 1.
Damien Rice - Rootless Tree has pretty much a 6415 progression throughout, although there's a lot of sus2s thrown in for the fingerpicked verse.
